Footy stars-turned-boxers Barry Hall and Sonny Bill Williams will come to blows in a cross-code fight on March 23.  Sonny Bill Williams will return to the boxing ring against one of Australian sport’s most notorious figures, ex-AFL hard man Barry Hall.

Sydney’s International Convention Centre will host the bout, with tickets going on sale on Friday, January 14.

The 36-year-old Williams is undefeated as a professional, boasting a 9-0 record, but has had just one fight since 2015.

In a big move for boxing, the fight will be broadcast on PPV on Stan Sport.

Sonny Bill is 36 years old with a 9-0 record, stated that he is now concentrating on boxing to round out his highly illustrious sporting career and AFL tough man Barry Hall is a great stepping stone to bigger domestic and international fights. Sonny Bill said, “Barry Hall is inexperienced in the ring and nowhere near my class level. Tomorrow I will have a training camp with undisputed champ Tyson Fury to ensure I am 100% prepared for this fight I will take this win and move onto bigger fights over the next 24-36 months”.

Fury has a matching rights deal with BT Sport, and it is expected that his planned world heavyweight title unification bout against Anthony Joshua will air on BT Sport Box Office this May or June, as well as on Sky Sports Box Office.
